Buildings and their components shall be designed and constructed for earthquake impacts in accordance with the National Building Code of Iran and earthquake loads. The design-based earthquake is an earthquake that is less than 10 percent likely to occur within 50 years of the building’s useful life. Also, buildings of high importance or taller than 50 meters or more must meet the specific criteria for the impact of an “earthquake” level of operation that is more than 99.5 percent likely to occur in 50 years.

According to national building rules and regulations, Chapter Six, Earthquake Side Effect Sections Affecting Non-structural Components article 6-7-2-8 and figure 6-7-7 above Article, Connections of prefabricated structural elements are considered one (1) along each line.

Buildings that are definitely in use after the earthquake Such as hospitals, firefighting, posts, and telecommunication centers, terminals, power plants, chemical warehouses, govern orates, and municipalities.

Schools, universities, hostels, military centers, prisons, and museums

  • building with a medium important factor (I=1.2)

Stadiums, cinemas, theaters and seminar centers

  • building with a Low important factor (I=1.1)

Residential homes, commercial buildings, hotels, etc.
